Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 3

Welcome back to Hailey's Strawberry Shortcake "berry" special birthday party! As I was planning goodie bags for Hailey's school Valentine's Day party (Valentine's Day Bags 2014) and preparing for Hailey's birthday (Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 1), I mentioned that we hosted two birthday parties. One for Hailey's school friends on Saturday and one for family on Sunday. So all of the supplies we needed were purchased together, at Target, Hobby Lobby, Party City, and Walmart. In our last post we shared the party we hosted for Hailey's friends, Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 2. Today, we are sharing the family party we hosted. For the family celebration we served lunch. We set the table up for a soup and salad bar luncheon and moved the dessert table to our buffet. We changed out the Strawberry Shortcake plates for thicker plastic clear plates that we can use for other occasions. We, also, changed out the Strawberry Shortcake napkins for green and white stripe napkins and changed pink plasticware to green plasticware. Two different parties with one theme! And not only did we still have a Strawberry Shortcake theme, but it also felt a little bit like spring. We are sooooo looking forward to spring!

Remember this was the table
set up the day before, on Saturday.

And this was the table set up
the next day, on Sunday.

On Saturday.....

And on Sunday.

Hailey loved and enjoyed the whole weekend!
We had such a great time celebrating with family and friends!

Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 2

Welcome to Hailey's "berry" special birthday party! As I mentioned in our last post, Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 1, we hosted two birthday parties, one for her school friends and one for family. Today we are sharing the party for her school friends. We displayed the goodie bags with thank you cards along with fresh flowers, and candy in apothecary jars as part of the Strawberry Shortcake theme decor. We set up an apron painting table for her friends so they were able to make their aprons as they arrived. And, of course, we served cake and ice cream. While planning her birthday parties, I was also planning her school Valentine's Day party goodie bags, Valentine's Day Bags 2014. So, any supplies that I needed were purchased together at Target, Hobby Lobby, Party City, and the cake was ordered from Walmart. Our Sweet Baby Love was in awe. Every time she walked into our dining room she would say, "Oh Mommy, it's so pretty!"

Hailey all ready to welcome her guests.

Hailey and her friends had a great time!

In our next post we will share
how we changed it up
a little bit to include lunch.
Two different parties using one theme.
Awesome!

Hailey's Birthday Strawberry Shortcake Part 1

Hi everyone, we hope you had a great weekend! We enjoyed our extended weekend! Brice and Hailey didn't have school Friday and Monday, so it was nice to be able to relax a little. I, finally, was able to take a little time to go through the pictures from Hailey's birthday parties which we hosted last weekend. We celebrated with her school friends on Saturday and with family on Sunday. We had such a great time! (If you missed Hailey's princess party, last year, you may like to read about it here, Happy Birthday Part 2 and Happy Birthday Part 3.) As I mentioned in our last post, Valentine's Day Bags 2014, I was shopping and planning for Hailey's birthday parties and school Valentine's Day party at the same time. So, I can't say for sure which specific items came from which specific stores; but, I can say that the items I purchased came from Target, Hobby Lobby, Party City, and Walmart. I do know we ordered the cake and cupcakes from Walmart. And Holy Cow, I can also say, there is so much inspiration on Pinterest it is so easy to get carried away and want to do it all! We tried to prepare as much as possible before the celebrations. It was a little difficult with the weather making travel a challenge, but everything turned out great!

When I saw this idea on Pinterest,
I was inspired to make one of our own.

So, Lexie drew up our
Strawberry Shortcake sign
to welcome Hailey's guests.

I made invitations and thank you cards
for the goodie bags.

"Come join us for a berry
special birthday party"
and
"Thank you for making my
birthday so berry special".

And stamped the thank you tags
for the bubbles.

Chris placed all of the cupcake liners
on the top of mason jars
to coordinate with the straws and name tags.

I put together the goodie bags and bubbles.

I saw this Valentine's Day idea on Pinterest
and adapted it to use for Hailey's party.

And then, I set up the dining room table
for the kids to sponge paint their own aprons.

With the preparations complete, we were ready to party!
Come back and see Hailey's party all set up in our next post!

Valentine's Day Bags 2014

Hello everyone! We hope all of you had a great weekend. Although it was cold and snowy, the sun was out and we had a wonderful weekend! We celebrated Hailey's 6th birthday with family and friends and will have our party posts soon. (You may like to check out last year's birthday party Happy Birthday Part 1Happy Birthday Part 2, and Happy Birthday Part 3.) In the mean time, I thought you might like to see the goodie bags I put together for Hailey's Valentine's Day party at school. I didn't want to worry as to whether the bags were for "girl or boy". So, all of the goodies inside the bags are the same (makes life easy). As I was preparing for Hailey's birthday party, I was also preparing for her school Valentine's Day party. I purchased these brown paper bags from Party City when I was purchasing supplies for Hailey's birthday party. I purchased the Happy Valentine's Day stamp from Hobby Lobby. All I had to do was stamp the front of the bags, put tissue paper in the bags, and tie them up with ribbon. The bags are so simple and plain that making them into Valentine's Day gift bags was easy!

We hope all of you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Heart Pillow And Sheets

Hi everyone! I have, finally, finished unpacking the boxes (except for the kitchen) and we are knee deep in birthday preparations. But, I wanted to take a minute to share with you these cute Valentine's Day sheets and heart pillow I found at Target.

I don't, usually, do a whole lot of Valentine's Day decorating.
I like to switch out accessories like pillows, throws, and fresh flowers
without having to go overboard with a whole Valentine's Day theme.

In fact, I still have the decor set up on our sideporch that I used at Christmas.

I planned it that way. I used a general red, white and snowflake theme
to carry us through winter and right into Valentine's Day.

However, when I saw these
I knew that they would be a wonderful addition
to Hailey's room for Valentine's Day.
The pillow feels like velour and is Hailey's favorite color.
The sheets are a nice cozy, warm, flannel
and are perfect for the cold, snowy, winter weather.

Just in time, too! As we get ready for another snow storm coming our way.
